About

My name is Taya and I’m in my twenties. I am currently working as a disability support worker and I used to work as a PCA in aged care. I  finished a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Creative Writing and minoring in Criminology. I’m just about to graduate from a Masters of Occupational Therapy. My hobbies include writing, reading, netball, yoga, cooking, crafts and gardening.

In this blog I want to share stories, both true and fictional. I want to express my opinions and go on the occasional ramble. I also like to share some often silly poetry. I want to be a writer and hope to publish a book one day. However I need some motivation to stick to a project. The aim of this blog is to do that. I post writing prompts, short stories, poems and recipes. I might start to share some occupational therapy content but we’ll see.

If you have written anything in response to my prompts let me know and I will read it and share. I am a bit behind with this but I will get to it. Also if you write short stories or poems or think I will like your blog let me know in the comments and I will go check it out.

If you have any questions about me or my blog feel free to ask them in the comments and hopefully I will be able to answer them.

  1. Hi, I’m StroppyGit. I applaud your ambition to be a professional writer. I’m an economist but all my life I’ve wanted to write – real books, not just reports. I’m still doing my ‘proper job’ but I’m also finalising the 2nd book of a sci-fi trilogy (the Eeks Trilogy, the 1st book of which will be called ‘Eeks’).
Publishers aren’t interested in new writers, understandably, so I’ve decided to self-publish in e-book form only to begin with. I believe ‘Fifty Shades…’ started off that way.
I wish you well. Since you’re studying crinimology I assume you want a career as a crime writer…? That’s my wife’s favourite genre, as it is many people’s.

          1. All good! Even though they’re fun, sometimes I never get round to doing the post since they take a bit of work. It’s more the thought that I appreciate most.
